  9.  The purpose of the MODEMS echo is to provide a forum for discussion of all
  10.  modem brands and models (anything from 1200 to 33.6, but with primary focus
  11.  on high speed modems in particular), as well as discussion of modem setups,
  12.  init. strings and configurations.

  20.  1) No flames or inflammatory posts.  This includes personal insults as well
  21.     as "product bashing".  Debates are allowed, just try to keep them civil.
  22.     Personal disagreements should be taken to netmail.
  23.  
  24.  2) Handles are not allowed.  Your real name should appear in the message
  25.     header.
  26.  
  27.  3) No excessive quoting.  Quoting in general is encouraged to make it easier
  28.     to follow message threads, but quoting an entire one page or multi-page
  29.     message in order to post 1 or 2 lines at the end is a waste.

  31.  4) Avoid excessive signatures.  Try to limit them to 2 lines maximum.

  33.  5) No selling, buying, or trading of modems is allowed here.
  34.  
  35.  6) No advertisements of any kind. This includes indirect advertisements
  36.     which many people frequently include in their message signatures.
  37.  
  38.  7) No profanity or unnecessarily harsh language.  It is not required
  39.     to get your point across.

  41.  8) Please leave the moderating to the moderator.

  45.  Violation of these rules will result in the following action(s).

  47.  First Offense  : Moderator Warning
  48.  Second Offense : Moderator Warning and Netmail Warning to the SysOp of the
  49.                   BBS the violators message(s) originate from.
  50.  Third Offense  : Violators access to the MODEMS echo will be revoked for a
  51.                   period of time determined by the Moderator.  If deemed
  52.                   neccessary by the Moderator, the violators access could
  53.                   be revoked permanently.
